Why Us

Each tour is conducted with a maximum of 8 people.

All the accommodation is a unique African style. From classic African homesteads to treetop cabins to luxury tent camping in the African wilderness.

The itinerary of the tour focuses on the real Africa. We stay away from the tourist Africa.

Much effort has been taken by us to give you a genuine experience of as many aspects of Africa as possible. We visit a real local village in Swaziland. Sundowner Safaris are the only company that does this. We have 10 years of experience in Kruger National Park and are able to take you to hidden areas.

During our camping safari we have the entire reserve to ourselves. Away from the tourist, the buses and the people. Just us and the African bush.

If you look at our testomonials you will see that coming to Africa with Sundowner Safaris is like coming to Africa with a group of friends.

Testimonials

We have just returned from our fantastic tour of South Africa and Swaziland. We are still raving to family and friends about it. The organisational logistics and quality of food and accommodation was outstanding. There were so many highlights...the up close and personal experience with African elephants and Cheetahs; touring the beauty of Swaziland; the elephants, lions, rhinos, birds, crocodiles, zebra, giraffe, cape water buffalo, hippos, warthogs, wildebeest, giant snails, snakes .....of Kruger National Park; the beauty of the Blyde River Canyon; the excitement of the ultra light flight over the animals in Greater Kruger; the romance of a night in the Pezula tree house and finally the thrills of the camping wild safari amongst the big 5 tracking rhino and leopard at night. Wow! I want to go back.
Thankyou Sundowner Safaris for making story book dreams into a reality.
- Brad and Connie - New South Wales
My wife and I have spent many years traveling the world with various organisations and tour groups, and I would just like to comment on our recent trip to Africa with “Sundowner Safaris. I can say that with out exception this has been the best value for money, enjoyable, and memorable trip we have undertaken.
The key to its success was the insistence of our Hosts on a limit of no more than 8 in the tour group.
From our first introductions this made the trip feel more like a family holiday. At no time were we ever surrounded by large groups of tourists and every location we stayed at was carefully chosen to provide us with the best possible opportunity to experience the “real” culture of the people and the diverse nature of Africa in complete privacy. Our hosts and guides had an exceptional knowledge of all the wide variety of wild life we encountered. They went to great lengths to give us the very best viewing opportunities while making us feel safe and comfortable at all times. No question was unanswered, no request overlooked and, every thing happened at a leisurely pace. First class in all respects and a credit to our hosts Kevinn and Kellie of Sundowner Safaris for sharing their passion for Africa with us..
- Helen and Adrian - Queensland
I would like to say just how much I enjoyed the whole Sth. African experience. If I had any doubts that I could get a feel for the Country in 16 days, you have certainly dispelled them. I had a wonderful time, great food and comfortable beds. The variety of style of each stopover, the leisurely pace made this my best overseas trip ever! You asked me once, what I would nominate as the most outstanding experience throughout the trip and I couldn't - remember? Well now I believe it was the fact that you keep your numbers to a maximum of 8 and are able to provide a truly personal experience. Considering I am a single female traveling alone, I felt like I was on an adventure with a bunch of friends.
Thank you - may you spread the joy of Sth. Africa to many many more Australians..
- Robyn - Queensland
My husband and I booked on a 16 day African tour with Sundowner Safaris in May of this year.
Our guides were Kevinn and Kellie and I would like to say that this trip, which is the first time I have been to Africa, was the most wonderful time I have had.
From the outset the attention to detail and organisation were flawless. At no stage did we ever have to worry about our bags. They were organised and handle by the guides from beginning to end.
Our accommodation was amazing. Every place we stayed at was perfect and completely different to the next. From 5 star luxury to tree lodges overlooking African bush to camping under the stars of an African night sky. The best thing was that each place was small and intimate and had a real and strong African feel. We felt and knew we were in Africa.
The food. Well what can I say but beautiful and delicious every where. Just a delight from day 1 to day 16.
The animals. Well the effort our guides went to show us as much as they could was outstanding. The animals we saw would take me pages to list here. But let me give you some sought of idea. We saw 3 prides of Lions in 1 day in Kruger National Park. Two different sightings of Leopards (both male and female). Beautiful herds of Elephants, with babies, Rhino’s, Giraffe (also with new born baby) and so so much more.
I just want to that you for giving us a memory of Africa which we will take with us through our lives forever.
And the best thing of all is that you only take small groups. There were only 5 of us total, which made it wonderful for both of us.
Thankyou to Sundowner Safaris, thank you to Kevinn and Kellie and I can not recommend this tour through Southern Africa strongly enough..
